This work is a simulation of the drowning experience through the use of everything but water. It showcases the human experience as a reflection of our fears. I aim for viewers to question whether what we fear is true? If not, why do we fear it?
This artwork is an extension of my photography project based on reflections and distortions of reality through found objects. This work is aimed to bring about an emotional response and experience that is unique to each spectator.
Sound is a very important element in the video. All the sounds used were made, combined and distorted to tell the story. These sounds include doors opening, light switches, footsteps, breathing, scratching, and water droplets.
Ultimately, in this video I explore the relationship between light, colour, reflections, sound and time in the human experience. The work made up of the reflections and distortions of all these elements.
