Mixed media on foam
80 x 98 cm
This work explores the beauty and fragility of childhood as a magical, yet fleeting time filled with wonder and imagination. I created this work in an aim to preserve it. Drawing from my own memories of playing with friends, the work captures the innocence and freedom of early life, which is often missed in the dark world we live in today.
Through mixed media, the use of children's colouring pencils, written lyrics from children’s songs, and fantastical imagery, my work recreates the vibrant world of a child’s imagination.
My intention is to invite viewers to reflect on the delicacy of this life stage and to reconnect with the playful and vivid colours that once shaped their own inner worlds. I want them to also question what is lost when children are denied the freedom to play and dream safely.
